Growing into Gray is a customized, multi-step service designed to help you transition from colored hair to your natural gray with care, patience and integrity.

Growing Into Gray begins with a required consultation and strand test, where we assess your hair color history, hair health, and how your hair responds to lightening and toning.
Clients are asked to grow out at least one inch of natural hair so your unique gray pattern can be clearly seen and respected in the transition plan.

The first full service focuses on safely lifting and lightening and blending as much as your hair allows. A second session is used to refine, balance, and soften the result. If a third session is required, it will focus on pinpointing stubborn areas where color saturation remains.
This is all done with your hairs integrity in mind.
This service is best for clients who are open to a gradual, intentional transition and value hair health over rushing results. Everyone has a different percentage of gray and gray pattern.
Not immediately. The process begins with a consultation and strand test. After that, you'll be asked to grow your hair out at least one inch (8 weeks on average) of natural hair so your gray pattern can be properly assessed and respected in transition plan. Stopping before the consultation is helpful but not necessary.
Every journey is different. Most transitions take 2-3 sessions, spaced several weeks apart. Some clients may require additional visits depending on previous color history and hair health.
Hair integrity is the top priority. All lifting and lightening is done conservatively, based on how your hair responds during the strand test. Treatments and timing are customized to minimize stress and breakage.
This is very common. Gray patterns are unique, and part of the process is learning how your natural silver grows. Strategic blending and multiple sessions help soften contrast and create harmony.
Well, It took awhile for the wisdom lights to show up it will take awhile for them to be uncovered again. On average gray transition appointments typically range from 4 to 6 hours, depending on the session and complexity of the service.
There may be transitional phases, but the goal is always a wearable, blended look at every stage. Each sessions builds on the last to keep you feeling confident throughout the journey.

A little update from Overgrown Salon 🤍
In mid-March to early April, I’ll be moving my personal suite upstairs into a larger space connected to my bridal space that better supports where my work is headed. This new location inside The Suite Co. will no longer be handicapped accessible, so I wanted to share that as clients plan ahead.
Thank you for your continued support!
